Today, I have a really fun topic: why is chiropractic controversial?
Well, the reality is that chiropractic is nearly as controversial as it is underutilized. A fraction of the population goes to a chiropractor at any given time. Of all the people in the country, 30 percent have utilized chiropractic at one time or another. That means that for a lot of people, chiropractic is a totally foreign experience, they just don’t know anything about it.
Add to that, for a long time in years and decades past, there was an active campaign to discredit chiropractic coming from traditional medicine. This is gone, we’re now well accepted, we sometimes work with medicine, we work within the system. But, we do provide something entirely different. Think about it, instead of providing an outside in, you need a pill or surgery to fix your ill, we’re providing an inside-out approach. We trust that your body has an innate ability to heal itself. It just needs to have the capacity to do it. And chiropractors will help you attain that goal and make that process possible.
The result is that people who have problems like low back pain, headaches, indigestion, people who have problem with their neck, with their shoulder, with tension, with dealing with life, are having massive success with chiropractic, massive results. Infants that Dr. Linda sees, who have problems with latching, who have problems with colic, who have problems with ear infections, who have chronic problems get fantastic results without the use of harmful medications.
Drugs are dangerous, there’s no two ways about it. Sometimes they’re useful and they save your life. Most times, if there is a way to get your body back to function without the use of medication, it makes sense to not use medication. This is where chiropractic comes in. That is the crux of the difference.
I can’t wait to see you!
