Why Do Chiropractors Look At Your feet?
Dr Slak explains that when a person is on a table for treatment, the first thing they do is assess the length of their legs. By moving the feet, they can determine where and how the person is subluxated, or misaligned, and then figure out how to correct it. The goal is to balance the leg lengths and in turn, balance the spine.
The first thing we do when you’re on a table is look at your leg length. So why do we grab your feet and move them around? Well, we’re doing this to see where and what is subluxated at that moment so we can figure out what to do to correct that and help you get better and, move and, improve and, progress over time. What we’re looking for is leg length inequality. We look at the leg lengths and we see if one is shorter or longer than the other. We then do our adjustment and we are looking for the correction. When we know we have balanced your the legs out, we know we have balanced your spine out. Over time, through repetition, it gets better and better until you can really hold a balanced state and continue staying well. That’s why we check your leg and grab your feet every time you come in.
