Pregnancy Low Back Pain
What to do about pregnancy low back pain? I have a study that answers some questions that we’ve been looking at for a long time. This just got published in a journal called Spine. Spine is the premiere spine-related journal. The article is about why do pregnant women have low back pain, where is that pain coming from? Some women have pain, some women don’t have pain. Why is that?

What they did is very natural for chiropractors to do, but these are not chiropractors. These are researchers, PhDs and MDs, out of Japan. They looked for the alignment of the pelvis of the pregnant mom-they took X-rays of them. Now, we take X-rays of our non-pregnant patients routinely, to measure alignment, distortion, dysfunction, so that we can correct those problems as quickly as possible to help people feel better and return to their normal activities. We always have assumed that clinical findings indicated pelvic misalignment. They demonstrated it.
These researchers looked at pregnant women, and they found that the ones who had misalignment of their pelvis had more pain in their low back. They called it sacroiliac joint disease. I’m not sure it’s a disease, I think it’s a misalignment that needs to be adjusted. And this is the sweet part, when you correct the misalignment, in my experience, and I have decades of it during which I have seen a lot of pregnant moms, the pain is improved in the great majority of cases.
This goes a long way towards showing that if you have low back pain, we’re going to help you. If you’re pregnant, we’re going to help you. If you have low back pain and you’re pregnant, you should be here because we’re the only place that’s going to help you naturally and safely. Chiropractor’s office look at the alignment, restore alignment, restore function so you can return to performing at your best and feeling good while you carry your baby.
Pregnant moms who have low back pain most of the time have it due to misalignment. This is what this study shows. That’s what we correct. I can’t wait to see you!
