I Am Better. But Why?
You know, something I get to hear often is, “Is it possible that what you do could help with headaches? Is it possible that’s what you do could help with periods? Is it possible that what you do could help with digestion?” And the answer is generally yes. Something that often happens in this office, people will typically come in with headaches, neck and shoulder pain, or back pain while also experiencing other seemingly unrelated symptoms.
Even though we dig right in when we first start care, they forget to mention it because it may feel like something outside the scope of our practice. And yet after a few visits, they start to experience these massive changes where their body is just happier, functioning better, just doing its job better with more ease. Your body begins working with less pain and problems. You may be able to do things you haven’t been able to do in a long time.
The reason for that is very, very important. It’s a fundamental paradigm difference between what we’re used to, which is to have a condition and treat it. An example, you have bad back pain, and we help you correct and minimize pain, and you get back to playing golf. But what also happens, and this is important with chiropractic care, is that fundamentally chiropractic care is about normalizing your body’s natural ability to function. Part of that function is to heal so that low back pain goes away; you play golf again. However, the whole body starts to function better and heal, and that’s when we hear people start saying, “Hey, you know what? I used to have digestive problems, and they’re gone.” “Hey, you know what? My periods are now regular, what happened?” “Hey, you know what? I had headaches for 40 years, and now they’re gone.”
That is why, fundamentally, we are removing interference to the nervous system so the brain can. Depending on the type of resources you have available, the sky is the limit. So hey, that’s why it’s possible, and that’s why it happens every day. From Slak Chiropractic, I’m Dr. Jean-Marc Slak, right here in Burlington. Can’t wait to see you.
