Felling Better
A questions I hear frequently is, “How come I feel so much better when I’m under chiropractic care?”. Not only is does it make our back feel better, our neck feel better, and our kids are getting healthier, but also we just plain feel better.
There’s a really good reason for that. The studies on this topic are really plentiful at this point and really interesting. The number one way to measure that is by using a test called heart variability. What these studies show is that people who are under chiropractic care, people who get adjusted, have a component of their central nervous system that works better. That side of the autonomic nervous system is called the parasympathetic nervous system. Fancy words. What the parasympathetic nervous system is run healing, digestion, balance hormones, and it calms down most of your body process. I wrote about how adjustments improve nerve function previously.
When you’re under regular chiropractic care over a long term, the impact on the parasympathetic nervous system can be cumulative and it tends to be up-regulated. This leads to a better level of health overall, as well as an enhanced sense of well-being. This is why getting adjusted and keeping getting your spine and nervous system in line over time provides better and increased results, not only in terms of feeling improvements pain-wise, but in terms of general feeling and improved function. Feel better!
