You’ve been thinking about going to a chiropractor. You have heard great things from your friends… But, Does It Hurt?
Does It Hurt?
That is a question that I get, that I hear often, not from people who are coming here, but people who are thinking about coming to our office. They heard from their friend that chiropractic can help them, can help them with low-back pain, can help them with headaches, can help them with neck pain, and arm pain, sciatica, ingestion, can help babies who have problems. Dr. Linda basically sees exclusively babies, and children.
They’re considering going to the chiropractor, because they would like to get those benefits. To feel better, function better, get back to doing the things they want… but does it hurt?
Do chiropractic adjustments hurt?
Well, let me answer that very clearly. Typically, a chiropractic adjustment is not painful. There might be some discomforts associated with just getting a little pressure on tender area of your body, however, beyond that there really isn’t any pain involved. Actually, in this office we used techniques that are designed specifically to be extremely comfortable.
We do very precise adjustments to correct the core problems of your body so that you can heal, and feel better, and return to doing the activities you want to do. Whether your goal is getting back to work, working out, being able to spend time with your children, or grandchildren. Whether you want your baby to be able to start eating with ease, and gaining weight appropriately, and thriving. Or just returning to normal function.
We use a specific set of techniques. The core method that we use utilizes an instrument called an activator. This instrument is extremely gentle and comfortable. For most people, when they first start chiropractic care in our office, it is almost disappointingly easy. Many have built up this anxiety about adjustments. They think “okay, I’m gonna have to go through this, and experience this dramatic adjustment.” They gather their courage and show up. And it turns out to be a comfortable experience. Here is an explanation of how the Activator works.
If you go on YouTube you’ll see plenty of downright scary versions of what some people get through. As a result of decades of study and experience, we have refined our process to a set of techniques that are gentle and effective. Methods that are comfortable, that do not hurt. We want to help you recover as quickly as possible.
One of the things that we’ve found that is key to that process of recovery and healing is that you feel comfortable with the process, so we have pursued and attained a level of expertise that enables us to be very, very precise. We’re trading a lot of the force that is traditionally involved for precision.
If you’re worried about whether it’s going to hurt worry no more. We’ve got your back.
